Obituary for Karen Cartin

Karen A. Cartin 54, of Riverside and formerly of Warren, died Friday, January 27th at home after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Rose (Souraty) Cartin. She was the former wife of Nicholas P. Ferrara. She is survived by her three beloved children, Nicholas A. Ferrara and Michael T. Ferrara of Riverside, and Kristina N. Ferrara and grandson Nicolas Soler of Bristol; sister Margaret M. Cartin of East Providence; godmother Marie (Glover) Dias of Warren and many friends and extended members of the Cartin and Souraty families.
She was a communicant of St Mary of the Bay Church and an employee of Lincoln School in Providence for 18 years. She was a devoted Red Sox fan and loved cooking for her family, the beach and anything purple.
Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren where family will receive friends, Monday January 30th, 3-8pm. Funeral Tuesday, 9am from the funeral home, Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main Street, Warren. Burial in St Mary of the Bay Cemetery.
